Joy Irive Memorial
Joy Irvine Memorial – following the story in The Standard about the need for funds to reconstruct a rock climbing wall in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the Board resolved to dedicate the funds set aside for recognition of Joy’s work in Cambodia to this project and a plaque to be attached. Further, arrangements are being made with the Eisteddfod Society for establishment of a perpetual encouragement award in Joy’s name. There will be a detailed presentation about the activity of 25 August.
 
Water for East Timor
$10,000 Set Aside for Timor Leste – WET are now able to go back into TL and have chosen a village where it is 2 kilometres to water supply. RCWE money will assist establishment of pipeline, tanks, reticulation and training, a previously proven scheme. Again, there will be a presentation by the Chair of WET during September.
 
Riding for Disabled
Received a letter of thanks from Dr Michael McCluskey (President), Riding For Disabled, following our recent donation ($2,000) and stating “Please pass on our thanks to your members who have been great supporters of our RDA centre over the years including the provision of the annual Christmas BBQ for our riders.” Cliff commented that it was a two-way street as RDA folk give considerable assistance at the Hole-in-One.
